KOLÓNIA 52

Kolónia 52 makes natural wine on the volcanic slopes of Szent György-hegy, Balaton. Unfiltered Furmint and wild-fermented reds with a spirit of controlled chaos. Buy online at BTW Wine

Annamária & Attila’s glou-glou Furmint and easy reds.

Tiny production, huge personality. Annamária and Attila farm just three hectares on Szent György-hegy, the volcanic hill above Lake Balaton, and every bottle reads like a love letter to the place. Gravity-flow cellar, hand-applied labels, amphoras, folk-tale artwork on the front — it’s all heart, no machine.

This is small-batch natural wine in its purest, most joyful form. The Kolónia 52 philosophy is glou-glou with soul: easy-drinking, low-intervention wines made to be poured fast and often, with zero pretension and total freedom in the cellar. Working such a small parcel by hand means every vintage is hands-on, honest and a little bit different — exactly how they like it.

The range stays bright and playful: a fresh, mineral Furmint that shows off the volcanic soil, the citrus-driven Lime, and a juicy, characterful red they call Controlled Chaos. These are wines for a long table, a warm afternoon and good company — Balaton sunshine in a glass.

  • Vibe: fresh, clean, light, natural
  • Taste: juicy, bright, easy-drinking
  • For people who like: glou-glou with soul
  • Try if you’re into: playful natural wines, hand-crafted everything, volcanic Furmint, Balaton sunshine in a glass
